I understand that volunteers at The LORD’s Child food pantry may mean working in conditions that can include, but are not limited to: lifting and handling damaged food products. I hereby accept and assume full responsibility for any injury that I may suffer while volunteering at The LORD’s Child food pantry. In the event of an injury, I waive and release my right for damages.

For safety reasons, we require that all volunteers wear closed-toe shoes when they come to volunteer. Food and other products at The LORD’s Child food pantry are strictly for distribution to registered families and individuals who are participating in the food pantry program. Volunteers are not allowed to take any food product from The LORD’s Child food pantry. The LORD’s Child food pantry is a drug, smoke, and alcohol-free workplace. Any volunteer who takes food or distributes, possesses, or arrives under the influence of any drug or alcohol will be asked to leave.

The LORD’s Child is not responsible for any missing personal belongings.

Sexual harassment, violence, or other offensive speech will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

When lifting heavy objects, use your legs to push upwards, keep your back straight and your body balanced. Do NOT attempt to lift over 50 pounds without assistance.

Report all accidents and injuries to a senior volunteer or staff member.

Wash your hands before and after handling food items.

Food may not be removed from the building.

I will strive to always provide a pleasant, healthy, welcoming environment for all who visit The LORD’s Child food pantry.

What you hear or observe about clients, staff, and donors while volunteering is confidential. Even a seemingly harmless comment repeated to another person can be misunderstood and cause harm. In order to create a safe and respectful environment, we ask that you honor this request to keep client information confidential.
